Our Core Values

Be Excellent!

Core Value: Do Your Best

We at Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity strive to always do our best. The best we can do for the organization, our fellow employees, and the best we can do for families in need of a hand up. We believe whatever you do you should always do the best you can. Whether taking an application for a home, raising walls for a new home, sweeping the floors or stocking the shelves in the store, it’s all important work and should be done well.

Whistle While You Work

Core Value: Have a Good Attitude

Everything we do will be done with an attitude of joy. We have the best job in town, we get the opportunity to help families in need build a better future for themselves and their children. In helping them, we help the whole community. Any task done with a good heart and a good attitude is sure to succeed!

Be the Person Your Dog Thinks You Are

Core Value: Always Be Kind

In dealing with everyone we come into contact with on a daily basis, we should show kindness. Everyone we meet is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Be Kind. By virtue of our work we come across families and individuals who are struggling. We can be kind even if we cannot help them with a home, we can help them with a listening ear, an empathetic heart, and make suggestions of how they may obtain the help they may need.

Your Word is Everything

Core Value: Keep Your Promises

This is a very important Core Value of Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity. Keep your promises, keep your word. Our word is everything. Keeping your word is the first step to exhibiting to others our integrity. Therefore, we will do our best to be forthcoming and honest in all our dealings with vendors, customers, volunteers, donors, homeowners, and each other.

Keep an Attitude of Gratitude

Core Value: Be Grateful

We are grateful for our mission and the means to achieve our mission. Situations can always be better, we aren’t so naïve to think things are rosy all the time, but one way to make them better is to show gratitude for what we do have to get our job done and what we can do for the community. God will always come through for us when we have an Attitude of Gratitude and keep our faith in him at all times. He has always come through for us and we walk in faith day by day.
