This home is being constructed for Sandy Chambers, who is a single teacher in Norman. She has two adult daughters and three grandchildren. Sandy decided to apply for a home because her current living conditions are overcrowded, in bad repair and a heavy cost burden on the family. Sandy is the only one who is able to provide an income for the household. A Habitat home will greatly improve their living conditions and lift a significant financial burden. We are very excited to have the Chambers' become part of our Habitat family and we hope that you will join us in building their home!
Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program promotes the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat houses. Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity has constructed three Women Build homes since 2003, and is currently building its 4th Women Build for for the Chambers Family.
The Women Build program was started by Habitat for Humanity International and has been very successful with Habitat affiliates around the world. Since 2003, the program has more than doubled in size. To date, women crews have built nearly 800 Habitat for Humanity homes in 14 countries, and the program is growing across international borders to empower women everywhere to address the problem of poverty housing for themselves, their families and their neighbors.

We are excited to announce Ethan Shroll and his brother, William, as the recipients of a Habitat home. Ethan and William currently live in Norman, Oklahoma. Ethan initially sought out Habitat in order to provide a home for them that is both affordable and decent. Their current living conditions are in disrepair, with poor heating and located in a dangerous neighborhood. However, it is all they are able to afford. In a search for low-cost housing that offered better living conditions, Ethan decided to apply for a Habitat home. We have the perfect home for them; it just needed to be Greenovated. Just above 800 square feet, this two-bedroom home is situated near William's middle school and is convenient for Ethan as well.
